BJV Posted July 5, 2012 Share Posted July 5, 2012 Hi All, I have a large festival ball in the works.So far I have the main stars complete it took over 13lbs of comp.The burst is finished I made 9lbs black powder on cotton seed 1:1Just started on the inter petal. But yours are only 23mm? Do you still have to prime them, or does this rule not apply anymore when you're starting to make bigger shell's? marks265 Posted July 8, 2012 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Looks good so far BJV. By the time your done I imagine that thing will weigh about 20-22 pounds depending on what stars you stuff in it. I'm working on another 12 myself right now. I like working on bigger shells it just seems easier on my half broke meat hooks! Will you be hand pasting it or do you have a WASP or other shell pasting machine? I bought a WASP after I started hand pasting 8's so I couldn't imagine doing a 12"er.
