Fence Post Prime Question

please forgive me as i am very new to this art, but can ematch dip be used as a priming layer on shells then dusted over with some meal?

No, you don't want to use ematch dip. It is impact sensitive and is a much more energetic material.

 

If you applied it as a prime it would likely act pretty much like a burst boost, causing a WAY too hard break resulting in either blown blind or shattered stars.

On top of that it would become very expensive, very fast.

I only can find Ferro Silicon can i use this for Fence Post Prime? Will 5-8% works or do i need more like 10% ? I want to prime some strobe, phiko blue, independence red and emerald green stars with this prime.

Can we use 200 mesh silicon metal powder? I am not getting 325 mesh here.

You can use single layer prime that is listed in spanish document.

Single-layer prime
0.30 Potassium perchlorate
0.38 Potassium nitrate
0.14 Charcoal, airfloat
0.05 Red gum
0.06 Sulfur
0.09 Black iron oxide
0.15 Magnalium, 63-micron, 230-mesh
0.05 Dextrin

You can use red iron oxide and aluminium or silicone instead of magnalium. I also use a final layer of BP over this prime.

 

Regarding your question...the 200mesh will also work, don't worry.
