Bobosan Posted March 13, 2014 Share Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) Tested the updated star roller drive today using a auto blower motor with chain drive. I had these components on hand so only expense was time. Was able to get a batch of stars rolled but the PWM speed control (5A) started dropping out when the load and run time increased. Motor is drawing 1.6A no load with empty rolling bowl and it more than likely draws greater than 5A as it loads down but haven't measured the current draw under load. Going to try another beefier PWM control (20A) to see if it helps any. In the meantime, a wiper motor from Monster Guts ( thanks uncrichie for the link) is on it's way in case the new PWM controller doesn't work out.
