Potassiumchlorate Posted January 2, 2012 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I have heard this many times. If they are incompatible with each other, will someone please tell me why. The reason I ask is that I milled barium nitrate in my BP jar, and afterwards thought about what I've heard about not mixing Mg and sulfur. I use barium nitrate for Bleser White Mg. Mumbles Posted January 2, 2012 Share Posted January 2, 2012 You'll see it listed on MSDS and the like as incompatible. They're however incompatible for the same reason that potassium nitrate and charcoal are considered incompatible. The mix will provide a self sustaining combustion.
