Unbelievable Daylight Display

This is by far the greatest daylight fireworks display I've ever seen. There are a number of effects that made my jaw drop:

I don't know if they used electronic time fuses or what, the timing and perfect height of the shells I would call impossible if I hadn't seen it on video.

Someone on Pyro Universe linked an article that said they used the RF fuses in the shell. Pretty incredible display, too bad the video wasn't further back to get the whole effect.

Awesome display. I particularly liked the ground salutes timed with the smoke bursts.

AlJazeera's coverage said "explosives normally used by army as anti-missile decoys to light up the skies"

Not sure if this is bad translation or I'm missing something but I was looking forward to some military pyro thrown in  Unless the military use smoke shells for chaff?

Those not familiar with Cai's work should really check out his website. He's a dude.

as I posted on another forum when this came up, here is a way to make shells like this with powdered chalk in 4" shells.

I wish the person filming the above show had realized that the shells would go off in the sky above. I would have liked to see the way they displayed in the sky more than the way the mortars fired, though that too was pretty impressive. I made some of the shells as described on Mr. Creagan's page linked above, I could only find yellow and blue line marking chalk at the time, but they were fun to do and looked a lot like what you see in the video, at least the ones that just made PUFFs of color. I am still trying to make working smoke stars though so I can make the streamer type bursts,
