MilkyJoe
I found a source for titanium but I am unsure of how pure it is or if it the stuff I want. The stuff is advertised as: Cutting agent powder, Titanium grit.$30 AUD for 5kg ($28.37 USD) any one have any experience or know of this type of Titanium? also, how easy would it be to grind this down into a finer powder? Thanks Milky.
Swede
Milky, I am just a new guy with Pyro, but I do have many years of machine shop work under my belt, and my gut is telling me that if the Ti is being sold as an abrasive, it is probably an oxide or something besides a pure metal. I'd ask them exactly what the material is before pulling the trigger. There is currently a "titanium craze" going on. People are calling everything titanium, even when it's not. My favorite are the crappy twist drills (steel) being sold as "TITANIUM DRILLS!!" They are NOT titanium, but they may have a titanium compound as a coating. So proceed with caution! MilkyJoe
Hmm I thought that may be the case. The problem is, the person selling isn't actually a supplier, they bought the titanium elsewhere and are now selling it on so I doubt the would be able to answer my questions. Still, I will give them a call. Thanks for the advice.
