If it is a problem I can delete it if the mods want. Anway.... I remember back awail in the comp area there was some easy colored star comps using chems like barium perchlorate, strontium perchlorate, etc. posted by some russian guy IIRC. Umm... i think i recall a thread on barium and strontium perchlorate... it would be in this section (chemistry). The basic reactions for nitrates are generally either: NH4NO3 + xCO3 ---> (NH4)2CO3 + xNO3(NH4)2CO3 ---> NH3 + CO2 + H2O or HNO3 + xCO3 ---> xNO3 + CO2 + H2O For perchlorate it could possibly ammonium perchlorate and x carbonate, or perchloric acid. Several separate threads titled "Russian Fires"...Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue. Mostly made with metallic Perchlorates IIRC. Not all of the pictures are hosted these days...
