I am very new to the hobby and was just wondering what to use for burst charge in 2 to 3 inch shells,will
BP coated rice hulls work? any help will be greatly appreciated

Yup, BP coated rice hulls. 4 parts BP to 1 part rice hull. You may need a small amount of flash to 'boost' the burst but try regular rice hulls first.

Thanks for the help couple of other questions since I'm new and on a budget what is the most economical star to make for a newbie I have been considering getting a star pump but rubber stars seem very strait forward as well I have a ball mill and have made what seems to be pretty good lift powder looking to take the next step.

Stars that use BP ingredients will be the cheapest usually. Take a look at tiger tail, c6 or c8, glitters, etc
