DeAdFX
Nothing impressive. A 3inch mine shooting ~150G of D1 glitter and the same mine shooting 75g of D1 glitter. I used 30g Goldenpowder(GP) and 3.5 grams of titanium for the lift powder for the first one and 20gGP and 2.5g Titanium for the second one. here is one prefire picture.. http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/2927/prefireshotqw3.jpg As you can see I have 30 some grams of D1 glitter on the scale. Mumbles
What the purpose of adding the Ti to the lift charge? I would think it would burn too slow to help any.
DeAdFX
The Ti helps ignite the stars because the golden powder produces very little flame. The sparks from the Ti are what cause the D1 to ignite. I really have to make "proper" lift powder[black powder]. Golden powder is nice but its probably better suited as a rocket propellant.. Besides the easier ignition I would probably launch my stars higher which would help because you can see still burning stars hitting the ground:/ O yeah I also added another video.. fizeau
Are you experienced in the use of GP as rocket propellant and would you share your knowledge? I did try but got no results to speak of.
DeAdFX
No I am not. The only reason why I say its better suited as a rocket propellant is because its decompisition products are less corrosive and plus you can cast the propellant like KNO3/sucrose.
