Mumbles

Recommended Posts

I brought this up a few weeks ago, but didn't really hear anything publicly. This Thread. I've had a few thoughts passed on to me in the chat as well as privately. I was hoping to get the input of the whole member base though. I'm not personally in a position to do anything with energetics, so this would require the input and help from everyone, which I view as a definite plus.

I'd be interested in hearing input based on potential liability, issues, organization, etc. I started something in the Admin section so the moderation staff could talk about it privately as well.

If we're interested in pursuing this I'd be interested. Fair warning, I have high standards :) This is actually the initial vision I had for the Member Tutorial section to ultimately evolve into. To take some of the workload off of myself and TheSidewinder, I'd prefer to do this in a more collaborative manner. This actually happens to a good degree here already, just see earlier in the linked to thread. Perhaps also have a sub-group of members to serve as a final editorial board.

Things will always excel if we take advantage of our resources, and work off of our strengths, namely our amazing member base. In no particular order, this is how I see this working. I'm always open to new ideas.

  • New section for works in progress. Final products could be moved to the member tutorial section?
  • Perhaps a text based tutorial to compliment the videos?
  • New idea proposed
  • One or a few members take lead, will actually be creating the video itself.
  • Members as a whole collaborate to decide on important points and things to say
  • Outline put together
  • Rough draft of video
  • Video is edited and improved based on suggestions
  • Final draft put together
  • Final approval by myself or board or editors.

So basically you wan't a revied section for tutorials. To this section videos get added after all errors are smoothed out. Before that they can rest in a working area?

Sounds really nice to me and could result in a very nice video Database

But one question, would everybody be able to upload tutorials or will there be a group witch are managing the tutorials and put them online (so that the creator gets mentioned or, has the ability to stay in the dark). Such an institution could maybe be interesting for members like MrB which have god reasons not to post such things in their own name.

It would be easier if myself or a small group did the uploading. I'm sure you can appreciate that a publicly accessible or published password and login details could be a logistics nightmare.

I'm happy to, and would prefer, to give creation details to the actual author (if desired). All I really request is quality and a link.

Logistics will be somewhat of a nightmare either way. If someone else then the author is to do the upload (which i like. No reason to have the members of the community that can't legally do fire-working, incriminate them self by dropping of IP's and such on Youtube as a source for the video) then files has to be uploaded to a temporary storage somewhere. I really hate those drop box thingies where everyone and their mothers wants you to watch a banner or accept a flash thingy so they can show you some tits, just to get to the file your looking for.

Something like a FTP host, perhaps? I think i could set something up, i should always have a couple of 100GB free space on the storage-servers, and just set it to automatically purge files that are x days old, if someone forgets to do the laundry...

Not to mention that acting as a middle storage would get me involved, if even slightly. I'm probably not going to end up posting "my own" videos regardless, since i'm not set up to record anything.

B!

Sounds like a very good idea, Mumbles. I would also like to see quality tuts and text descriptions, similar to what we see on other forums and vendor websites. Count me in with whatever endeavor needed.

So kinda like what Ned.G does over at Fireworking.com ? I like the idea but I'm not good at writing up procedures in detail :( but I do like the idea and would like to help in anyway I can :)

problem I see with posting these videos on youtube is that its too easy for people to report the video and get it deleted ive had a few videos from yt get deleted and there wasn't anything wrong with the video. I think we need a server just to host these videos as I believe they will all be gems and worth saving at all cost. but I do like the idea for the tuts. -LBK-

Well i don't think that that would be a problem, we still could just make a list of the movies here with links, and mark em as private. That will keep out mowt guys who report these vids

To be honest, I'm not very worried about that. Most of the videos I've seen get taken down over the years are from accounts with sketchy histories, or from accounts which engage in interpersonal interaction on youtube where people get pissed off, or have some sort of audio copyright issues. Anything related to this forum will have none of those. It's not like we wont have the video files available to re-upload, or host privately anyway. Hell, we could just put them up onto several sources like youtube, vimeo, locally, etc. for convenience of the members.

Could I do a video on rolling tubes , because I'm now restricted to just building at the club and photo and videos aren't something that fly well with the club for safety reasons.

Sure, set something up. Start a thread and try to get some input as to what would be good to include. Something like this, which involves no live materials and something relatively simple could be a nice test run.

Id be willing to do a small tutorial demonstrating the construction of "hole shots" for split stars, as outlined in PTII.

Would be the first of an ongoing series for large diameter shells of that type.

Dailymotion, Bitchute, paid lbry.tv (where possible upload files too), or Free ZeroNet, Torrent. Multiple platforms need to be uploaded to the same tutorials. Youtube will ban, age restrict all pyro tutorials, and ban the user channel. Which is not Youtube less than quarter has as many visitors to other sites. As for the popular platforms not available on the open internet, very few people visit that content. But they don’t censor the pyro content. Youtube is good for that to link the content what you have in another websites (discreetly). In Youtube all quality pyro tutorials are deleted, lot of users channels are banned. There are very few on other video sharing platforms the pyro theme. Disappeared permanently lot of professional pyro tutorial from Youtube and the internet.

DTube videos will not be available after one week the content cannot be deleted. Steemit the same situation. Except the 2 big forums APC and Pyroforum.nl, in other communities and non English countries the homemade pyro theme are dying.

Pyrobin the user cannot delete their own files.

The highest quality pyro tutorials are popular, have visitors. Communities, however, there is no professional consultation. And professional knowledge is also a joke in less popular (non global visited) platforms.

As glitchy as Bitchute is, it's to my understanding they allow almost anything chemistry. There is some good content floating around in there when you can find it.

Like many others, I hear they lack funding, reason for being buggy. I support them once in while because of their lax censorship. They do ask to please mark videos accordingly for adult or 18 and older content.

It can't be any worse then Pyrobin, 10 min to view 20 sec worth of video. Not knocking, just being honest.

So did anything ever come of this idea of having some sort of private server hosting videos so folks don't have to expose themselves on the yootoobs or elsewhere?
