nater
I have been trying to make some ejection trays for my star plates. I have made a few prototypes from scrap plywood and some birch plywood. The concept works great and the stars are ejected easily with a press. Cleaning the dust from the plywood is the only issue so far, although this is really only a cosmetic problem. To make the same tray from a sheet of delrin, can you solvent weld it with methylene chloride like you can other plastics? What about heat welding? Or is tapping and drilling the best option? dagabu
if you like the birch your using just seal it with sanding sealer then just wipe clean Jeff, we are talking about Delrin now, not birch wood.
nater
I am going to stick with the birch plywood and make sure it stays well sealed. Delrin or PVC sheets are not cost effective and I can work with wood much easier without investing in new tools.
