Did you use one of the windshield wiper motors?

Good job, MWJ!

I did. I found a old ford truck at my friends house and he said I can have the wiper motor, so the entire roller didn't cost me anything to make. I had everything else.

Nice roller! You could also add a timer unit to make it really automated. I did so on my ball mill and it works really good and simplifies things considerably.

I used this one :

Very nice idea! Thanks.

MWJ,

You can also use a second bucket inserted into the roller bucket which is easily removed after each batch.

This makes it easy to clean the bucket for the next batch of star mix compound.

Also makes it much easier to empty the star roller and sort the sizes of stars.

You might want to build an enclosure around the motor to prevent flammable dust from entering your motor.

Using this style of roller outdoors is pretty safe but when used indoors dust can build up quickly on equipment.

Stay green, and be safe. :-)

Great idea! I'll have to get another bucket then. I'm not sure how I can cover the motor but I do like that idea of safety first!
