Awesome Shells Niladmirari!

What caused the stars to swim on the 4" brocade? Were they cut stars or rolled, because I think cut stars tend to swim right before they burn out.

Good job!

Thank you! The stars were cut. Nitrocellulose 8%, for acetone. Therefore, the stars were pores. This gave cravings (rocket).

Need to be pressed on dextrin. Or to roll.

Do you use dextrin or red gum in your black powder? It seemed very fast and powerful. You have nice big granules for burst.

Nice job on the black powder.

Do you mind sharing the green formula ? It looks amazing.

It is simple. Сlassic composition:

Ba(NO3)2 - 60%

PVC - 20%

AlMg - 20%

nitrocellulose - 5%

If you add 4% coal or iditol resin flicker will not. Will just green/

Shizznt, if you press the powder like he does there is no need to add any binder - the granules will be as hard as ceramic. The trick is to break the pucks before they are thorougly dried as once dried it's really difficult to break them.

Niladmirari, what prime do you use? Certaily not meal?

After drying they as porcelain :)

I use BP. Coal 20 minutes in the mill grind. Ignition 95% of stars. I think additive AlMg there does not need.

That is the same setup I was using to make hemis but the time saved buying hemis by the case outweighed the small price for most sizes.

But you do an all around nice job, I to like to make what I can before buying especially with the price of tooling for this hobby.
