Jonathan
Just out of curiosity, what use do you have for silicon? I've got some and don't quite know what to do with it.
mathiasxx94
You may use silicon to make some pretty hot priming compositions. By just adding 5-10% silicon to normal (short milling time) BP 75-15-10 you will get a prime that can light almost all star formulas, even those hard to light high metal content stars. The mechanism is that the oxidised silicon in the prime will form a layer of molten glass around the star that will stay hot long enough to light the stars.
