eb11 Posted June 26, 2013 Share Posted June 26, 2013 hi guys i made my own bp i screened it through a 8 mesh screen and anything that stayed on a 12 mesh i have been using for lift powder. the problem is i ran out of my bp but i have some goex cannon grade if i screen that through a 8 mesh and use the bp captured on the 12 mess would it be the same Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Goex is one I haven't had in my test lab yet, but in general the commercial BP with some number of F's on the label, followed by a "g", like Fg, FFg and so on is milled to a very very fine powder and then pressed while wet to a pretty high density, then broken up to mesh size after it is dried, and then glazed -that's the "g", often but not always with graphite. Could you probably use Goex canon grade as lift, yes. How much you would need compared to home screened is anyone's guess, I'll go with "a lot less than you are used to, and work up slowly."
