nater Posted April 25, 2013 Share Posted April 25, 2013 It is a classification of hazardous materials for shipping in the U.S. Whether it is shipped ORM-D or by stricter hazmat designation has a lot to do with the quantities being shipped and the specific hazard of the material. For example, small amounts of paint, epoxy and other household chemicals are shipped ORM-D, but if they are packed in larger drums they get a different hazmat designation.
