taiwanluthiers
2 3" shells I shot as a part of chinese new year... featuring chlorate blue made with homemade chlorate and magenta, with D1 rolled over it. http://www.youtube.com/embed/PalnIX6zT0k Edited February 9, 2013 by taiwanluthiers
pyrojig
Nice shells . That was a big 1st break!! The colors look nice for homemade chlorate . I too have amazing luck with high purity kclo3 from my cell. It is all in the washing, and if that is not enough, recrystallization , is key to purtiy. Very nice, thanks for sharing those . taiwanluthiers
The blue was chlorate, but the magenta was based on commercial lab grade perchlorate, did not want to chance it by mixing chlorate with metal (and with buell red type comp, it did not work well with chlorate). The first break was big because the comp burns slower than the chlorate comp (the magenta star was half the size of the chlorate star) but also it broke low, because the time fuse acted funny...
