butch
How many layers of straping tape should you put on a plastic shell and should the whole shell be covered.
Xtreme Pyro
When I was using plastic hemis I sealed the shell with Xylene and use 4 layers of tape. Taped using the 3 interlocking rings pattern (horizontally, vertically and diagonally) around the shell with good results, however I did also use a flash booster. EDIT: I do believe this method is outlined in one of the skylighter articles.. I'll try to dig it up Here it is: http://www.skylighte...l-shell.asp#new it's about 3/4 of the way down the page. Shadowcat1969
I'm actually still finishing off the plastic hemis that I bought when I started, and I use strapping tape over the equator, then 3 strips, as described by Ned on Skylighter, then I use 3 strip method with gummed paper tape in at least 4 layers (for my little 2" shells) over that to get them nice and solid. pyrojig
Sounds like a very nice "Hybrid" shell. Many Us co.'s have gone that route with Hybrids.
