That looked good. I counted 21 stares is that about right? What was the comp on that C-6?

That was a nice shell, glue one of the stars to the shell for a tail next time.

 

Chrysanthemum 6 is pretty well know, and it's posted all over the internet, a quick search should land you the formula, easily.

55/33/7/5, from memory, one of my favourite stars.

I was just wondering if he changed the 55/33/7 any. I would also like to see how he placed the stares in there, i'm not much on 2.5" but i would like to build a bigger shell that looks like that.

The formula I used is

Kno3- .75

Airfloat charcoal- .15

Sulfur- .1

Dextrin- .05

Just multiply each number by 4 to get it in ounces. It will give you a 4 ounce batch.

That is not chrysanthemum 6, that is 75:15:10 black powder.

 

On a side note, how drunk was the guy filming the 3" shell? He had the camera upside down.

He filmed it using my ipad. We didn't know it would be upside down if we turned the ipad sideways, where the home button is on the left.

We just learned about it recently when we posted the videos on youtube.

no it wont, you'll get a 4g batch, times it by 100 for 4( ish ) ounces, well using metric anyway.

Still havnt seen the video, phone wont allow it, damn you technology.

Dan, if you multiply by 4 you do get a batch of 4oz. You're thinking too metric. The resulting masses are in ounces not grams. 3oz KNO3, 0.6oz C, 0.4oz S, and 0.2oz Dex.

ah, metric is simple no need for fractions, second nature to us brits, i automatically assume grams.

If you multiply by 4 you get a unitless batch size of 4.2 of an undetermined mass, if you multiply by 100 you get a unitless batch size of 105 of an undetermined mass. However, if you multiply by 4 oz. you get a batch size of 4.2 oz, and if you multiply by 100 g you get a batch size of 105 g...if you want to get technical about all this.

If you want to see these videos on an ipad, iPod etc. download the app downloads lite. Then when you click on the link on the top left hand corner of the app a note will say open, download, and close. Select download and watch it in the files tab when it is done.
