diaper mixing--what am I missing?

Experimenting with hotter flash comps (with sulfur) and am trying diaper-mixing for the first time.

Is there a particular kind of paper that works better?

Using standard 8.5 x 11" typing paper, I'm not seeing any mixing at all.

Perhaps it's that my batch is too small (jeez, like I wanna make more than a couple of grams of this at a time!) but when I carefully lift the paper corners to the point where they cause the components to move, instead of mixing they're just shifting on the paper.

Same when I lift the opposite corner: the comps just slide away without mixing together.

Any tips?

Thanx in a trance,

s

Try something like newspaper . It is more pliable, and paper is more rigid. It is better to mix a little more weight as well. Be sure to use a dust mask as well.

Bend the paper from a corner and pull it toward the opposite corner but keep the corner you are pulling low and pull it parallel to the work surface. This ROLLS the comp up and over on to it's self. If you just lift a corner up the comp will just slide down like you described.

Wondering, how long/how many 'turns' would you guys use if you were making say 10g of 70:30? I usually take a few (1.5-2.5) mins, say 45-75 turns. What about you?

Newspaper rather than bonded--makes sense, more tooth.

Larger batch--gulp . . .

Crumpled paper--more surface area to grab the ingredients.

Dust mask absolutely!

Great help y'all, thanx for your prompt responses.
