Since it doesn't cost money to post additional characters here, perhaps you can please stop abbreviating at bad places?

I mainly use KClO3 in zinc spreader/granite star comps, where KClO3 fits the role of violent oxidiser quite nicely. I make mine without K2Cr2O7, and use KClO3 as the sole oxidiser. IIRC , I used the following:

Zinc dust: 75%

KClO3 20%

Charcoal, reactive: 5%

Dextrin: +5%

Bind with water/alch. 75/25. I cut mine.

I don't remember exactly how it was, but I believe that is close.

Late last fall I made a batch of Aqua stars (Jim Freeman's PGI #63) and was very pleased. I haven't shot them in a shell yet, but the ground burns and star gun tests confirmed it's a formula I want to make again. Here are the weights for a 1-kilogram batch:

Chemical Weight in grams

******** ***************

Barium Chlorate 500

Potassium Chlorate 250

Lactose 125

Hexachlorobenzene 62.5

Copper (II) Carbonate 31.25

Dextrin 31.25

WARNING: Hexachlorobenzene is both toxic and carcinogenic. Handle CAREFULLY, use gloves and respirator at a minimum.

Per Jim Freeman at a seminar last year:

Push all ingredients through a 60 to 100 mesh screen in your tub, then screen them together THREE more times. Bind with water. You can add a few percent alcohol if you wish, but it's not necessary. These cut and pump perfectly. Not sure how well they would roll, but they should do.

Prime heavily with BP or comp/BP. Jim also states that he has used BP prime (with sulfur in it) on chlorate comps literally for decades without issue.
