bob
would you mind telling me what way you went about getting the rpm down that much for the colleting drum?bob
spitfire
No problem. The main drive shaft powers it all by a belt directly from the drive shaft, and goes to another pulley. The drive shaft is 20mm and the following pulley is 80mm. This pulley is glued to another pulley of 35mm. This one drives a belt directly on the collection drum. Slowing down like this gives the collection spool great force to pull the fuse through the funnels, and a good speed. Important detail: my motor has a gear box (right word?) directly on the motor. It isn't ideal, far from that, but it works. Maybe you guys can improve it.
