Best black match ever seen!

Hi all!

i've got this piece of black match from a fireworks company.

i've seen HOW it was made, i was there, it is HAND MADE, but they didn't tell me anything about the comp.

this is really the quicker and hotter black match i ever seen. nothing is better than this. this bm survive to any pipe knot, flash explosione etc. IT IS VERY FAST and don't blow completely the paper pipe.

Well, i want analyze this to understand what comp they use.

i'm sure they don't use DEXTRIN. the guy had in hand a box of powder and the box was something i have already seen but i can't say what.

when i asked if it was dextrin he said, NO... it is a thing bought in normal stores (so i think it it was Cornstarch used for cook, or wallpaper glue...)

they boiled water and then put inside the BLACK COMP and some of this binder...

then wetted cottonstrings and dusted it with same BLACK COMP used in the slurry.

then let string to dry for some day.

now i put here a zoomed pic of the final result.

MY i've seen it and unwinded a bit the string to count the strands of the cotton string.

i've noticed many BLINKING crystal in the BM surface.

can you help me in understand what this could be??

Is it possilble they are simply KNO3 crystals?

could it be PaperGlue crystals?

could it be some other chemical (or metal) particles??

see the picture at 100% please. white spots are blinking crystals.

the crystals are KNO3 most likely

binder could be homemade dextrin or CMC a combination of dextrin/CMC works best
