Wow. How long did that take you to build? That's amazing. I wish I had the brains and time to build that. I will probably try to build one this winter.

Where did you get all the switches, wires (electronics)? Radioshack or something like that?

Well, I got the stuff at this place called norvac electronics. I think its only in oregon, but you should look around or somthing to see if you can find one.

Like you said I guess I'll have to look around. Do you have a guess on how much it cost you?

Here's a direct link to my electric igniter box image page:

http://www.geocities.com/brainfevert/igniterbox.html

It's a pretty basic design with 4 lantern batteries and a capacitator to deliver high current when needed (gonna fit in a bigger one though). I'm also planning for an analog volt meter to show how fast the cap loads and determine when I need to replace the batteries.

It currently has 50 outputs, which is enough for now.

I'm looking for a way to double it with only 1 wire to spare in my 8 pair cable, but didn't come up with anything safe yet.

HAha wow your from Oregon too? Neato. I too paid a visit to Norvac to make an electrical igniter. (to bad they don't cary very fine nichrome wire). Mine is a simple blue box with a contiunity light and a button. SImple and unreliable (I still haven't gotten this peice of crap to work right.
