Chaz
The APC File Hosting Service ...is now online. We'll host your pyrotechnics related videos and images for as long as the APC is around. All files will be uploaded to www.apcforum.net/files/. Depending on the size of your file it may take a while to upload, typically it takes several times longer to upload a file than it does to download it, so please be patient and only click the submit button once. There's a filesize limit of 15mb, so check your video filesize before uploading, you'll be alerted your file was too big after you've waited for it to upload, rather than before, so it's worth taking the time to check. If you need to upload anything larger, get in touch with myself or another member of staff. As you will probably have noticed the service is supported by advertising (only for uploading a file, no advertising is imposed for downloading, and we allow hotlinking), so if you'd like to help support the APC, please visit a sponsor every once in a while. Finally, please dont upload stuff unrelated to pyrotechnics, we will be regularly scanning through all uploaded files. We hope you find the service useful! Star_Roller
This is awesome and this has a chance that everyone can now share more information and give greater detail and visual aid for everyone on this forum.GREAT IDEA!
dragonman586
What happened to the infernolabs filehost? That had some great videos, including 2 nice girandolas. Anyways what is the maximum amount of data that the server can hold?
Givat
Is there any way to see the files that are already hosted? like in "inferno labs".
Chaz
Is there any way to see the files that are already hosted? like in "inferno labs". We decided not to include that feature, in order to save on bandwidth costs. The idea is that you can upload a video of a shell, for example, and post the link, rather than just browse through the folder watching videos, as this works out very expensive for us. As for Inferno Labs, I've got all uploads as of April 2005 backed up, they're simply not uploaded because I haven't got around to it. They're not lost. Givat
Well it's a good thinking. But it's very enjoyable watching other people movies when you bored. You thought maybe limiting the movie sizes more instead of not using this feature? I know all of the movies in my computer are encoded and no movie is more then 2 megas. Of course I'm talking about movie of one or two items (Shells, fountain... ). Think about it. I think the 15 mega limit is too much. and people will just wont encode to get the movie take less place. aquaman
I'm having trouble with pictures. When I try to submit a picture from my computer to the APC File Hosting Service I get an "Ivalid Referer" message. The picture is JPEG an only 312KB (0.30 MB). Any help would be great. Thanks
justanotherpyro
Would it be feasible to dedicate a thread that shows the links of videos in the file, update it every once in a while, and lock it so that people couldn't make posts and clog it up? That way, people can still have access to see what all is on there, and also find a link in case they lose it. All without the cost of having to have the extra bandwidth. Spoony
Hmm.... I got a bad refferer message aswell, any idea whats causing it?
Mumbles
No idea. It should be noted that if anyone needs anything bigger than 15 megs hosted, they should contact the admins. If it is worth it, we may be able to upload it ourselves(unlimited size).
aquaman
That's where my problem comes in it's not even a megabyte only 0.3 MB and it's also JPEG. So it should be working. I could have some kind of computer protection software from prohibiting me from submitting, but I really don't know. But I guess the next time I need some pictures submitted then I'll contact an administrator.
