Zumber Posted May 6 Share Posted May 6 (edited) You may need to ball mill charcoal stars in order to perform well for example C6 ,C8 & Chrysenthemum of mystery and willow effect. If you dont have a ball mill then you may prepare star compostion first without binder ,then add water in it and knead it well just like cup cake consistency and mix it using mortor and pestle for half an hour or hour. Then dry it well and using wooden dowel again powder it ,then add binder in it and then form pumped or rolled star out of it. Use 70/30 water/alcohol for best result as alcohol reduces surface tension Of water and this helps KNO3 to mix well into Charcoal pores. If you search here in this forum the same charcoal based star topics have alredy been discussed many times, this may add extra input to your work.
