Mumbles Posted October 7, 2020 Share Posted October 7, 2020 I suspect those are actually microstar gerbs. It's hard to get that "colored spark" effect otherwise. There's no one perfect answer for how to make them. Your going to have to test and tune them, to work, to your liking. If you look at the pic, there is a distinct gap between the tube, and the effect. Or it seems so, hard to tell with the resolution. It may not be an actual unedited photo. I believe the consensus is that the micro stars are loaded into the tube with some nitrocellulose based propellant, the nitrocellulose presumably being of military surplus origin. It's not like commercial Chinese manufacturer's, publish how to books. Your going to have to do the research and experimentation yourself. If you want to develop a reliable working formula. You'll typically find, that most serious hobbyist that build. Fall into three main categories. Ball shell, Cylinder shell, and Rocket builders. Emulating Chinese built, jelly bean shooting fountains.
