mabuse00
Have you ever used a tool with such a radial hole in the rammer? What's that for? Scrubbing out the cavity?
Mumbles
Where's the radial hole at? If it's near the end of the pressing end, it's probably designed for a puller bar, or a rod to be placed through it to help twist the rammer and break it loose from the comp/tube. justvisiting
If it's on the first rammer near the bottom, it's to give excess nozzle clay somewhere to go so it doesn't pack up inside the rammer.
mabuse00
No, not the pullhole. If it's on the first rammer near the bottom, it's to give excess nozzle clay somewhere to go so it doesn't pack up inside the rammer. That's it.Actually I have a tool with aluminium rammer where cavity's opening has even slightly widened over time. Maybe I hit the exhaust cone on the spindle but it could also have happened due to clay buildup. Some tools have the cavity's opening (thus the end of the converging part of the nozzle) flattened - now I know why Edited July 16, 2020 by mabuse00
