Color star priming with c6

Hey there first post.

I have a couple different colored stars rolled up to about quarter inch and I was wondering if I could use c6 as the rest of the star and if c6 will be enough to light the colored portion. Or should I include a layer of hot prime or monocappa between the color and c6. And do I need to prime the c6?

The c6 shouldn't need prime.

Using a intermediate hot prime is cheap insurance for good reliable ignition.

With nitrate/KP based colors you can use a kp/nitrate based hot prime. But, if you also make AP colors, you should use a KP only based hot prime, so it is compatible with everything you make. And, you don't have to keep mixing up different primes.

Got it. I have only played with nitrate and kp based colors so I will stick with a kp nitrate prime. Thanks!

The monocappa is probably your best bet then. It seems to have a pretty good following.
