sakorick
Newbie here. I bought a Black powder cannon and need some help. It arrived with no flash hole. The canon's barrel is 29.5 inches to the rear seam has a 1.5 inch bore and the bore length is 28 inches. How far forward of the end should the flash hole go and what should be the diameter....5/16?? Any help appreciated. Rick. Edited August 19, 2019 by sakorick
patsroom
If I was in that situation I would contact the seller of the cannon and try to get the help needed from the builder of the barrel. They are the ones who build it in the first place and should know where to place the flash hold and the diameter of of it as well. That is all I call say about it at this time. See if that works..............................................Pat
Arthur
Contact the maker of the barrel, it may be designed for firing or it may be designed as a NON firing garden ornament.
dynomike1
Go to graybeards outdoor/ black powder. They know anything you want to know about cannons.

Richtee
My bet..if it came without the hole, don’t put one in and fire it. It was not made to fire.
