Replace a small part of KNO3 with KCL04

Hello forum.

I'm about to launch my third 1KG 410mm r-candy granulated mix based rocket with an heavy 8" shell attached on the top, for a total of more than 4 KG weight!

It was created with a special toolset made by Zmuro, with a very long spindle.

The following was the first launch, made with my classic granulated r-candy mix with 1% RIO and 2% 450-1000 Titanium:

In the second try I added 10% of perlite 8 mesh in the mix and eliminated the titanium (keeped only in the delay part):

In the last version I further increased the packing pressure from 6700 to 7000 PSI and I increased the perlite percentage from 10% to 15%.

The delay part was made with my classic granulated r-candy mix plus 15% of 250-400 Titanium sponge.

In order to eliminate any presence of water in the mix I cooked them in my dehydratator at 70°C for three hours.

Soon the video.

Now the question: hypothesize that the thrust is not enough yet. I cannot doing nothing other to improve the mix than act to the oxydizer.

The last thing that I want is to cook the mix in presence of perchlorate, so my idea is to reduce the KNO3 in the mix and add it

in the next round.

As You can see in my original tutorial:

https://www.amateurpyro.com/forums/topic/13028-how-to-make-hot-granulated-r-candy-mix/

I sink the mix into the alcohol while it is again hot.

My idea is to decrease the percentage of KNO3 in the original mix, and add the KCL04 while I stir the hot mix inside the alcohol.

So, if I will use, for example 35% sucrose and 55% KNO3 in the original mix, I can add the missing 10% of KCL04 in the soup.

But before to make some risky experiments I have five important questions for You:

1. Can the KCL04 badly react in a hot alcohol+sucrose+RIO environment?

2. Can the mix be packet at 7000 PSI without explode?

3. Can the mix be screened forcing it thru a 20 mesh screen?

4. Can the mix be cooked at 70°C in a dehydratator?

5. Can my idea be valid?

I have prepared tons of r-candy mix with my procedure and never had any issue, so I'm more than certain about the genuinity of my idea,

but in presence of perchlorate the things get a little more serious ...
