martindale
Hi, I'm a little confused. When making cylinder shells the tutorials (US) I've watched refer to 70lb Kraft Paper, 4 wraps. The paper I've sourced in the UK is sold as either 70gsm or 90gsm, with a little searching, I've found that these are equivalent to approximately 40lb and 50lb respectively. First of all, are these equivalent weight correct? If so, should I;a. Increase the no. of wraps to compensate for the different weights? Orb. Try to source heavier paper? If I need heavier paper, does anyone know where I can buy this in the UK?Thanks,Paul.
OldMarine
I use 40 lb paper for everything now. Just add the wraps to equal the total specified poundage of paper. Edited September 23, 2018 by OldMarine
