sora
The following three books got sold about an hour ago in ebay. The red colored Dave Blesser book aside, can anybody provide information on the other two books? If somebody from APC won the auction can he or she let us know about the contents of these books? Thanks in advanceSora
OldMarine
They all were published by American Fireworks News by the looks of the binding.
Mumbles
The "Pyrotechnic Formulary" book might be Donald Haarman's book. This is the cover I'm used to seeing though https://www.skylighter.com/products/pyrotechnic-formulary-over-2-500-pyrotechnic-formulations I have no idea on the other unfortunately.
sora
Thanks, OldMarine and Mumbles. Is it worthwhile to buy Donald Haarman's book? AFN seems to have another edition of the book with some redundancies removed:http://www.fireworksnews.com/Item/WIZFormulary Edited August 11, 2018 by sora
OldMarine
I have it and really enjoy it. You have to know quite a bit already to use it since some of the formulae aren't very safe or require exotic ingredients but overall it's a good book.
Arthur
The available formulae listings are all either short and incomplete, or full and contain exotic ingredients or include historic compounds using chems of restricted compatibilities or all of the above! Chlorate stars were essential once but had hazards, lots of formulae exist with chlorate and sulphur which have now been superceeded. You need to read old books with some wisdom before working from them. The worst thing about formulation books is that they often miss some essential features such as particle size and mixing method.

sora
Congratulations Maserface for winning these three books and the other set of two. I got outbid for this set, however, managed to win the 13 issues of PGI bulletins.
