dynomike1
Does anyone know how to build a daytime shell? All I have seen is how to make the comp.
Mumbles
Probably the same way to build a night time shell. In all seriousness, if you're more specific, we might be able to help better. Are you talking smoke stars? parachutes? flares? beraq?

dynomike1
I guess you mix the smoke in with the powder. Edited June 20, 2018 by dynomike1
cevmarauder
Well, a lot of smoke comps need to be contained in order to smoke and not burn. That's the trick.I haven't made any smoke stars--too busy making regular stars. For daytime shells this year, I'm going to just load colored corn starch in around a bursting charge. We'll see how it works. Probably look like colored flak.
Arthur
If you want coloured smoke, then you will need to make coloured smoke generators as inserts in your shell, including the correct case and jetting. If you want coloured chalk or corn starch then fill the hemis with this and try various burst charges to spread the charge without scorching it.
