Star cannon.

I'm searching information about star cannons without success. As I understand, they are similar to mines, but not exactly the same.

I want to test a few stars at a time, not a full mine.

Where can I find information about star cannons? Proportion ID to length, relation ID to star diameter, how and how much to load it...

If your looking for a great star gun, to test individual stars, Caleb has one at WoodysRocks.com. It has individual holes bored in a large cylinder of solid aluminum for 1/4" all the way up to 1 1/2" stars, iirc. Well the bigger 'stars' I should probably call comets. It's a pretty gun too I love mine. Check out his pyro tool site. Edited by PeteyPyro

Thanks!! I will gladly buy from Caleb, but I'm on the opposite side of the Atlantic. Now I know why I wasn´t finding anything. I was searching for cannon when I should search for gun.

Baldor, I don’t believe Caleb minds shipping over the ponds. While it’s not always the cheapest it does happen.

I made my own star gun out of a piece of 1/2" copper tubing and a 90 degree reducer. The reducer is pinched down so that it only fits a piece of visco and the whole deal is mounted to a 7/8 piece of wood dowel with the end sharpened to a point. If 1/2" isn't your thing just use a different size piece of copper tube

I will use rocket tubes for now. And maybe an smaller one with steel tube, 8mm ID.

Now that I know the proper name, I have no dificulty finding all the info needed :-)

Skylighter used to sell one that was a simple metal plate with the different sized pipe welded to it and fuse holes drilled in them. I had one that worked well but a neighbor backed his truck over it. I ordered one from Caleb after that and it also works as a great spacer for my press!
