so ive been looking around and ive stumbled across this weird iranian thing i think they call it narenjak or something. its basically a snap pop that you throw on the ground but its like 10 times harder.

https://youtu.be/gdRTQ5gCVnI i suppose they are using flash powder but i dont realy know what kind. it makes yellow like smoke when it explodes.

can anyone give some more info about this. i know it isnt really safest thing from what it looks but it is defintely interesting.

Interesting yes, but that's scary stuff.

Even if they knew, I doubt if anyone on this forum would tell you what it is. Especially when asking in the Newbie Section.

This question should be asked in the HE Section - if you can get access to it.

[EDIT] In actual fact, I think this thread should be deleted because it has nothing to do with pyrotechnics.

Yeah..that looks safe...

Yellowish smoke? Christ, the stuff don’t have to explode to hurt you then. Lead azide?

Yeah...this is best not f’ed with.

it is a type of torpedo, made with chlorate or Armstrong mix (death mix) not something you really want to mess with.

I did this in my childhood :D

Here is a similar composition, with additive MGAL

in the original composition
aluminum powder 10%
red lead 90% Edited by pirotek

aluminum powder 10%

red lead 90%

so is this very dangerous to make or is it semi safe? is it very sensitive to friction. or only when you bundle it with rocks together into a plastic bag? also what does this fall under? thermite?

yes it is a kind of termite

black stain on the wall, nothing more than a lead released during the reaction

The mixture is quite sensitive and requires careful handling

but if the armstrong mixture had 5 points then this would have 2-3

First off, I hope you realize that those are not smart people. If you're smart you wont try to make them either.

Either way I wouldn't mix rocks like that into it. Those are not small and very likely could become projectiles. The devices that require abrasives like that use something completely different.

yes, these are the wrong stones in this video
they should be smaller and round like beans :D
in fact, in such a construction, the stone does not receive enough energy to become a bullet or a projectile

Sure... all day long. Tear it up.

Mumbles..close this thing down before he learns something that causes damage/harm.

would this work to make this

no, with great difficulty

but with copper oxide (CuO) it works, but it will be necessary to throw it more strongly

https://youtu.be/FjS-Htr-b-0 so copper thermite is less sensitive then lead thermite? then this would be a better choice. this seems pretty good thank you.

This is long over due but I'm locking this.

The best choice is not making them at all. It's pretty clear you don't have anywhere near enough experience.
