braddsn Posted November 20, 2017 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Very nice man! 5's are where it starts to get more challenging to dial everything in. I think your lift was probably good if you had the gun aimed straight up. Since you angled it out over the water, it didn't get as much altitude, but still looked cool as hell!! As for burst, just add booster.. 3g at a time until you get it where you like it. I like 10-15g of 70/30 in a 5, depending on the type of shell. Maybe even 20g in a hard breaking color shell. Wiley Posted November 20, 2017 Share Posted November 20, 2017 That's actually a big canulle for a 5". Are you using plenty of polverone to pack in your stars? More spiking is generally better. I typically rin shells with the Fulc-recommended spiking pattern both times, thereby effectively using double the recommended spiking pattern. You are pasting your string, correct? Wiley Posted November 21, 2017 Share Posted November 21, 2017 In Italio-American cylinder construction, the string should be well-saturated with paste before applying it to the shell. Simply load your horse with string, then use a brush or your hands to slather paste onto it. Once the string has absorbed some moisture and lost some of its wetness, apply more paste and spike your shell(s). Any excess string can be left to dry on the horse.
