redbullzuiper
Is there any nice slower buring Golden or Yellow star composition using Sodium Oxalate and KNO3? I know the Gold glitter formula, but I dont want a tail. I just want a golden or yellow star without any tail.

redbullzuiper
That a nice color indeed. I don't have Sodium Nitrate though.
MDH
Do you have mangalium or magnesium? Or even, I guess, aluminum. My bet would be on fine magnalium as an ideal fuel - the finer the better. Start with 7:3 ratios of oxidizer to fuel, like making slightly over-oxidized nitrate flash, then add in sodium oxalate and binder incrementally to achieve the desired burn speed and color. redbullzuiper
Yes, I have Magnalium. Will try to make a yellow/gold comp as you suggested this evening.
MDH
By the way - no composition is too fond of water as a binder when it comes to burn rate, especially a metal one. I recommend using acetone and a gum / soft polymer of some type to bind the stars. Let me know how this all works for you. Cheers.
redbullzuiper
I stick to water or alcohol as the solvent. I roll my stars and Aceton makes to much mess. On top of that, its a quiet toxic compound, and the weather doesn't allow me to be outside
