NeighborJ
I'm looking ahead to after the NYE celebration. I'm curious if anyone wants to make a Rube Goldberg machine using as many different pyrotechnic devices as possible. I'd think this would be a fun challenge to showcase some of our pyro skills and inventive spirit.
OldMarine
I'm picturing wheels and line rockets!
NeighborJ
Absolutely mabe comets burning on a seesaw, glycerine and potpermanganate, lines of powder, pullstring popers, thermite, anything goes.
OldMarine
I've been pondering useless mechanisms all day and if nothing else I'm getting a good chuckle! Built a saxon that winds up a string lifting a strobe pot but burnt the string in two. Gotta build a cradle out of copper I figure. Damn you Man! NeighborJ
Hahaha, I can see this going wrong in so many ways. Just a few stray Sparks will set it all off. Might need to use whistle drivers to limit the Sparks. I think the rig will need to be spread out all over the back yard. All the devices will need to be ground effects. I'm picturing snakes tipping seesaws and sparklers burning loaded strings, matches striking. IDK I'll need to look up how to make some of these novelty fireworks. OldMarine
Until recently I've concentrated on ground effects and set pieces so I may have a leg up on you in that department! I was actually lighting the saxon and strobe pot simultaneously to raise the pot and light a line rocket (2 way) but the strobe toasted the string.I'll add a copper leader to take the heat and try again!
