felixthecat Posted June 23, 2016 Share Posted June 23, 2016 i saw a clip of this many years ago,it wasnt in colour and i assumed that kperc/al flash powder was involved however after having just seen a clip in colour on youtube(i copied the web address thinking i could paste it as a link here,but doh..i dont know how ) it seems that sr(no3)2/mg flash was used because of the very noticeable pink/red,another thing leaving me puzzled is that the base drum remains do not reveal any thundermug or concussion mortar which would be large and heavy.i know commercial maroons for film and stage are this composition but the fact that keith moon added the extra charge means this must have been an `open` device of some sort.a youtube search `keith moons drumkit explodes` will be necessary as im too ham fisted to post a link Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
