Was there supposed to be a pistil? It looked kind of like there was some blue changing to green at the center. It might have just been a camera issues though.

You're right. I did blue to green (10'') and red (6''). But the stars are destroyed (crushed).

Lol, I saw your video of your 12 inch shell, and I was pretty impressed. Great job on the 16 inch shell! It's too bad those inner petals crushed. :(

Even though it didn't work out exactly as you planned, that was still really cool! Great work my friend.

Congrats on a beautiful shell! Glad you finally made the move up to 16's. I wouldn't say your inner petal stars crushed really as I can distinctively see two separate color changes, I think you just need to roll them a bit larger or use more prime. Why? Because the heat generated inside a shell this large is so great, you actually lose up to 2 seconds of actual star burn time.

Look forward to seeing your next one!!

EDIT: What composition were the outer petal stars?

Hey! So thats where my plastic bowls went...

I'm not sure what to make of the colored stars. In the upper left center (Weird, yeah, i know) there is some blue. And shortly after it goes out there is a green glow down to the right of it. It doesn't really look like its the same stars, so where did the green from the blue go, and why didn't the green ones show as much blue as those up to the left... Weird.

And the red... there is a red glow to the "burst", as the shell opens, so they may very well have been crushed. Looked nice enough. I'd claim it to be an intentional effect, and pretend to be offended if anyone didn't believe me. ;- )

Will you be making another one, and tweak the stars? I mean, if a "failed one" looks like this, getting it right, will look like nothing else...
