Kno3/sugar/wax

Ok i looked through several sites including all topics on this forum discussing the DRY Kno3/sucrose/wax composition.

I first weighed out 60grams of kno3 and then i weighed out 40grams of powdered sugar. To the 100 grams of mixture i then added 10grams of parrafin wax. I used the soda can method stated in a post on our old forum.

(scroll about half way)

Well as instructed, and this is the results i get.

I am guessing its the powdered sugar that was used. I also didn't pack the composition in the can, so maybe that had a result to it. Any thoughts on how to eliminate the giant flame? I'm guessing using a different can? Thanks for your help guys.

http://www.frogfot.com/pyro.html#smok

Frogfot's method uses a soup can with holes drilled in it to hold the smoke mix so there is no chance that the can will melt and expose the burning mix to the air. When I make paraffin smoke devices I first melt the paraffin, and while its molten, quickly add the smoke mix and stir the crap out of it which gives you a well incorporated(yet somewhat clumpy) mixture of "smoke pellets". The formula I use is 6/4/4 KNO3/sugar/paraffin. I hope I have helped ^_^
