Got this one tuned in and performing nice. Dual purpose, stars and reports. Leave out the dextrin if using for inserts/reports. It's mine. Now for you:)

 

Bright White #1

 

60 -Kno3

35 -Dark Flake Aluminum (3 micron pref.)

 3  -Large Flake Aluminum (firefly)

 3  -50/50 Magnalium 200 mesh granular

16 -Sulfur

 4  -Dextrin

 

Bind with 75/25 water/alcohol.

looks a bit overcomplicated just for a report composition

Red Gum 10

Dex          5


There are very few problems that cant be solved with explosives.
                             Explosives are a bang up job.

Dyno, you didn't need to come in here and clown around. Go light one of your cannons and clear your head.

Have you ever noticed a nitrate/aluminum reaction while making these stars?

Not yet. I always have a bottle of water/alcohol with boric acid , and one without. Don't know the exact percent by volume/solution  added but it's around 5%. For those who like to add the dry boric to the comp when mixing, just the usual 2-3% by weight. I should have mentioned it in case someone did'nt know. sorry.

As for while it's still in powder, no issues.
