WSM
Gummibear in Hellfire experiment. Nice try, but that's typically potassium chlorate, not perchlorate. Sorry, but at this moment, I can't think of anything either. Good luck. WSM

Murphius
even the giant gummi bear hellfire experiment could be considered childish and result in misuse of the chemical resulting in blacklisting me from buying it resulting to annoyance
taiwanluthiers
What about just experimental rocketry?
pyrokid
How about this: you are conducting an investigation of colored flames. As such, you need an oxidizer.
Arthur
I'm not aware of a significant use for perc outside pyro and rocketry.
carbonhalo
Since 2005, a cartridge with potassium perchlorate mixed with anthracene and sulfur is used for generating the black smoke signalling the failure of reaching a two-thirds majority needed for the election of new pope by a papal conclave. Is that any use Cardinal Murphius?
MadMat
Well this is a stretch, but here goes; tell them you need to kill off tree roots in your sewer pipe and that you have a methane generator in connection with your septic tank, and the anaerobic bacterial cultures you use are halophiles. The resulting potassium chloride from the decomposition of the perchlorate will not destroy your bacteria as any other root killer would. The funny thing is this is a sound proposal, and it should confuse them enough. Oh yeah, if they are smart enough to ask why you would add an oxidizer to a system with anaerobic organisms, just tell them they are not obligate anaerobes. taiwanluthiers
Are you in Europe? If it's EU they have some strict rules regarding "explosive precursor" and therefore they have to ask for a legit use. Not only that you have to apply for a specific license, and the reason given will be throughly investigated and quantity limited to your intended use (meaning if you buy more than you say you need it would be denied). If it's the US, then find another supplier.
schroedinger
If he is in the EU they aren't allowed to sell it at all.

taiwanluthiers
Sorry, but as I said in the chat, you seem only interested in making salutes/flash. I don't know the laws in new zealand (I'm sure it's much stricter than the US) but making salutes bigger than a certain size is mostly illegal. Murphius
and.....?
Mumbles
and........if you're only interested in salutes I suggest you go elsewhere. This forum is for legitimate pyrotechnic discussion. Salutes bring a black eye to the hobby, and you don't seem to be taking it seriously. We're not going to help you trick someone just to cause damage or become a statistic. asdercks
asking for help to fool a vendor to buy a chemical for which you don't even know all of its applications on a legitimate pyrotechnic forum is not the way to go
Murphius
what implements the thought of me not knowing all of its applications? just assuming someone is only interested in salutes is ignorant.i am interested in creating 50mg tom thumbs within the legal limit as well as coloured smokes, rockets etc. the reason i'm trying to trick a vendor is because i live in a country where pyrotechnics are banned and implementing that i will be using KCLO4 for this purpose will make my hobby diminished as i will not be able to purchase the correct chemicals. so if you want to listen to taiwanmcfag which is 100% incorrect at least get some solid facts. i replied with "and...?" because his ignorant reply referring that i was a 'Kewl-Bomerz' was unnecessary and not helpful to my topic. i take my sense of humour with me everywhere i go so if i come off as a kewl-bomer you obviously don't reach my level of humour. so unless anyone else has an alternate use for this chemical do not try and shadow over me like some pompous fucking cocks saying i don't deserve answers or help because of unknown facts and rumours. Mumbles
How you do plan on "creating 50mg tom thumbs within the legal limit" when pyrotechnics are banned? Also, perchlorate will do you no good for colored smokes for the most part. We all realize that some of the members here operate under the radar. You have to be smart about it, and sometimes become more resourceful. P.S. Acting like less of a spoiled little douche bag shit will get you a lot farther here. A little respect goes a long way. taiwanluthiers
Also you mentioned in the chat that you were raided by police and had items confiscated because you sold fireworks to others. Perhaps you should count your blessing that you aren't in jail and stop before you actually do go to jail for it. (not to mention selling homemade firework to anyone is illegal in all countries, including the US)
