Nessalco
I got a lesson in chemical purity. I made a batch of red-orange parlon stars, which use calcium carbonate as the coloring agent. I used calcium carbonate from a pottery store, and the color was OK though distinctly red-orange. Then I was given a supply of lab grade PCC (precipitated calcium carbonate), and made another batch. The color is a much deeper and a nice tangerine color. Much less red to the output. The only chemical I changed was the calcium carbonate - and its convinced me to seek out high-quality carbonates whenever I can. Kevin
