asdercks Posted July 13, 2015 Share Posted July 13, 2015 Hi guys I recently started rolling stars and I thought of making some color changing ones, the size of shells I'll be making is 2.5" and 3",for color changing stars I was thinking of using either a 1/8" or a 3/16" star as a core and then apply the second layer until the star grows up to 1/4",and for glitter to color stars I was thinking using a 3/16" core and then grow the stars up to 5/16", so what do you think, what size of core should I be using for each of the effects I want to make? color change and glitter to color 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

pyrokid Posted July 14, 2015 Share Posted July 14, 2015 I feel like 1/8" is too small for a color core. I like 6/32 or 7/32 or even 1/4 better. In my opinion for both types of star you should start with 1/4" and roll to size 3/8" and then adjust diameters from there. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Maserface Posted July 14, 2015 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Depends on the type of break you want, but I don't think 3/8" is too big if you are using a tailed star composition. A year ago, I bought a 50 pound bag of it, because I knew I was going to be busy with firework projects, which is why I'm here. The White Millet I use is 1/16 of an inch in diameter.
