sora
http://atlaspyro.com/2015-monadnock-festival-of-fireworks-pitch-perfect-pyro/ Anybody attending? Anyone visited in the previous years?
ddewees
This is one of the best shows around there... very good. They must have moved it though... it used to be at the Jaffrey airport. I think it's $10 a car, so not a bad deal. I used to walk over because my brother lives right behind there. Edit: wow... it's up to $75 per car now. $10 for walk-ins... They never had the ability to control walk-in in Jaffrey, so maybe that's why they moved it. From my understanding, I was always told it was a show they would put on to try new effects and the cost ($10 a car) was to off set some of the costs. Now it looks like they are hoping for it to be a "cash cow". $75 is a little steep in my opinion... but it's probably worth it. sora
Thanks for the information. Most probably I'll be going. There's another tentative one in fall, however last year it got cancelled:http://www.ledgertranscript.com/news/townbytown/jaffrey/13582647-95/poor-sales-cancels-atlas-kaboomfest
ddewees
I heard about the bomb threat thing last year... sucks, some people love to ruin stuff for others. I didn't realize at the time though, that it was the second one. It has always been around the second week in August, which happens to be my birthday (that's how I remember). The jaffrey location was great (imo), since Kimball's Farm is right there, and arguably the best ice cream in the entire country (the main location is in Westford MA). http://kimballfarm.com/wp-content/themes/HighendWP/images/logo-last.png Edited June 22, 2015 by ddewees
Mumbles
I'll have to look into this. I'll be out that way the week after, so maybe a little early arrival is in order. I'd need to try to find some people to join me, or try to find somewhere to park and walk in. $75/car isn't too bad if you have a full car, but alone it's pretty steep. ddewees
I may be up there too... I have to make a trip to Nashua at some point this summer, just haven't decided when yet. Only makes sense to do it that week, since I won't be going to Gillette.
sora
Just wondering how would this compare to 4th July displays in Boston or NY? Atlas is a pyro supplier for Boston, though for this year Rozzi fireworks will be the supplier.
ddewees
This event was the first time I saw a pyromusical. They've gotten pretty good at it, and from what I remember, it goes on for a long time. It's not just a sky puke, but a well choreographed display. I haven't been for over ten years... It may actually be 15. I'm sure they've gotten even better at this point, at least I hope so for $75. The only way to tell, is to go watch all three... And report back.
sora
I'll be at Boston on 4th and again on labor day weekend , plus attend a couple of small diplays here and there in MA like the Revere Beach sand sculpting festival. Hope I could make it for NH
