wyzard10
Many years ago I was given a gallon tub of very fine aluminum. It is a silver white color and flows like water when its fluffed up. It came from a barrel of aluminum that was the end of a lot and could not be used in a new run. It was used in the making of rocket/missile motors. I know it isn't flake but outside of that im not sure what type of aluminum it is. It works well in thermite but I haven't used it for anything else yet. Wiley
Sounds like atomized. Can you see any sparkles in there? If you can't I'm guessing it's smaller than 500 mesh or so.
wyzard10
Stuck it under 100x microscope and its reflective, looks like the particles are round.
Wiley
Try making some glitter stars like N1 and see if it's any good for that. I use 425 mesh in my N1 and it glitters just fine.
GMetcalf
It does sound like atomised. I have quite a lot of it and it pours just like water and doesn't get airborne when handled. You could try making some white strobes with it too, from memory there are some Potassium Nitrate based formulae, like Yankie's Flashing Stars, which are fairly easy.
