So did americanpyrosupply.com get permanently shut down? I haven't been doing any pyro lately and used to buy some of my stuff from them. I know the owner has had some run-ins with the law in the past but I don't think any of it involved the business too much.

It's a news story so we don't know how the story has been twisted. He may have been asked questions that he answered honestly and didn't know the guy was doing something wrong.

If he hadn't asked him to mix binary explosives and then transport them on public roads he wouldn't be in trouble. Sounds like he did it to himself. Most people will tell the truth when being questioned. At least I would hope so although I'm not sure these stupid alphabet agencies deserve it.

That's the problem with anything you read in the news is that most of it is fabricated or a twist of what happened to be interesting. My dad got arrested at 72 for such complete bullshit it still makes my blood boil. Even worse, because he was a well-known person in town the paper printed a story lying about the entire event. Though the dirty cops made up most of it that they told the reporter. And they were dirty because they arrested him for stuff he didn't come close to doing and when he was questioned he gave a sarcastic "riiight" which they said was an admission of guilt. When the DA saw what group of cops it was they dropped the charges and said they are known for arresting people on BS charges. Dad won't cuss, was a commander and pilot in the Navy, and is one of the most moral people I know. Considering I was with him and saw most of what happened and how he was treated and how it was portrayed in the paper, I still want people fired and a formal apology. But that probably wouldn't happen and dad just wanted to put it behind him and forget it ever happened.

So yeah, I don't like or trust a word the media or the police say. There are a few good cops but many are on a power trip and think they are above the law. At least the douche bags I've met.

What a complete lowlife. Snitches don't last long screwing people's lives like this.

I remember this article. I can't believe the employee just ratted him out like that, especially for something as common as exploding targets in the pyro community. It's crazy he might be doing 11 years for this kind of stuff. So what, he likes to grow dope and blow some stuff up.

And I hate how bad badly the news makes everything sound. He was making some exploding targets, not plotting to blow up the Pentagon, "improvised explosive" just sounds so much worse.

Like I said I think he's dead so he won't have to worry about jail. I think it was cancer??? I'll have to do some more checking to be sure.

You won't be buying from him anymore. He did die this last November. He also had a couple of other stores Northstar Pyro was one of them. Back in his hay day he was a roadie for a couple of different bands. He finally settled and had a job as a hospital nurse until his shoulder gave out on him. That's why he began selling chems. Towards the end his girl friend, workers, health, drugs and the law all caught up with him at 64 years old.

Bob was a good guy that loved fireworks, music and the outdoors.... He was an honest man that sold good products for a fair price and anything but a danger to society, or some asshole bomber... The employee in question was simply a vindictive punk, nothing more.

Bob was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and was undergoing radiation treatments and other nasty things for it. If anyone had any knowledge of this particular cancer and how aggressive it is, they would understand his marijuana grow room and walk the F#@K away!

By the way, Bob grew up here in the CA Bay Area…. Cupertino I believe….

The pyrotechnics community lost a good man when Bob passed…. He is missed.
