Storing Fuse Together..Safety Concern?

Hi everyone,

Quick question, I was wondering if it is safe to store all different types of fuses together. I don't have them in plastic bags, which I should do anyway to keep out the moisture, but I have some crackling fuse, I guess similar in comp to dragon-eggs? Are there any "exotic" fuses (like the crackling fuse) that should always be kept seperate from regular fuse due to any chemical incompatibility between them?

Thanks!

Bump. Great unanswered question, from a (retired ?) pyro. Since the addition of perchlorate QM, crackling, falling leaves, and other types of exotic fuse to my regular QM, BM, visco, time, and fast grey fuse, I've wondered this myself (for 4 years too).

I was sorting through my baggies of fuse yesterday. They were untidy, and so I emptied out the dust and odd scraps that accumulated from anvil cutting a piece here and there. Because there are so many types, I keep each type in its own labeled ziploc bag, with a 10 gram silica gel desiccant pack. I don't want any incompatible fuse powders to be in touch with each other. I don't want a fuse's metal powders/nitrates sulfur/perchlorate dust mingling together (especially with any moisture) for any length of time either. Fuses are basically wrapped comps that are often stored for years at a time, so I believe that incompatabilities really matter here. Besides, now my fuses are neatly organized, easier to find, cleaner, and prettier... and that makes me feel safer.

Good thread resuscitation! I only recently bought ammo cans for my various fuse types and though they were previously bagged they were stored in the same bucket. Once I divvied it all into containers I was left with about 5 grams of powder of unknown content. Made a nice whoomph! Made me paranoid as well.
